Hello there! My name is Tanya and I am a Registered Dietitian as well as a Certified Diabetes Educator. In my spare time, I love to experiment and think of healthy, creative meals and treats. My love for cooking stems from my father who was always in the kitchen cooking up something delicious. Growing up, he made me realize the power of a good home-cooked meal. His food brought people together; friends and family would always get together to eat whatever masterpiece “Chief Joe” created and great times always followed. His passion coupled with my background in nutrition inspired me to start thinking of my own healthy meal ideas.
Apart from cooking, I love to run and be active. I finished my first marathon in March of 2014 and haven’t looked back since! I have qualified for the Boston Marathon four years in a row. My dream is to run in marathons across the country. My love for cooking and staying active inspired me to create this website dedicated to a healthy lifestyle.
On this blog, you will find some of my favorite creations, including recipes for breakfast, lunch, dinner, desert and even drinks! You’ll also find helpful information regarding different aspects of nutrition ranging from the benefits of chia seeds (see the “About Chia Seeds” page) to tips on buying bulk food items. Thanks for checking out my blog, I hope you enjoy it!
