Cinnamon rolls
1/2 cup boiling water
1 cup cold milk
1/2 stick butter melted
1tbls sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1 egg beaten
4 cups bread flour
1 box instant vanilla pudding
2.5 tsps yeast
The Fillng:
1 stick butter, softened
1 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup white sugar
5 tsps cinnamon
Frosting:
4 oz cream cheese { low- fat}
1.5 cups powdered sugar
1/2 stick butter, softened
1tsp vanilla extract
3 tbsp maple syrup
1-2 tsp milk to mix
Directions:
Mix water with milk, add butter, sugar, egg, and a cup of the flour and mix.
Add 2 more cups of flour, vanilla pudding and yeast mix and make a smooth dough. Add the last cup and it will thicken.
-Knead dough on board or mixer
-Butter dough and let rise for an hour
-Punch dough down and knead again
-Roll dough on board to get a 12 x 18 rectangle
-Spread butter on dough and sprinkle cinnamon and sugars over dough
-Roll dough into a log and pinch ends, I usually fold the ends under
-Cut dough into 12-13 equal cups
-Put rolls into the greased baking dish and let rise for an hour
Preheat oven 350 degrees, place the cinnamon rolls in a 9×13 glass baking dish.
When cooking rolls check them after about 15 minutes and if they are getting to brown put foil on and cook another 5 or so minutes check and make sure dough is cooked.
When cooked, cover with a towel and leave in dish to cool.
Make frosting and coat when cooled.
